Talia di Napoli Gluten-Free Pizza Review

Talia di Napoli Gluten-Free Pizza

What are the best gluten-free pizzas? After being diagnosed with Celiac Disease I worked my way through all the gluten-free frozen pizzas in the supermarket, only to be disappointed by all of them. I’d rather not eat pizza again than suffer through those sad imitations.

After apparently spending too much time online searching for good gluten-free pizza, I started getting stalked by targeted ads from Tali di Napoli Sleeping Pizza. These authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas are made in Italy by master chefs using local ingredients, and then flash-frozen and shipped to the U.S. Talia di Napoli’s gluten-free pizza actually looked pretty good, so I ordered it. This is an honest review of Talia di Napoli’s Gluten-Free pizza, which I bought with my own money.

Is Talia di Napoli Gluten-Free Pizza Celiac Safe?

The gluten-free pizza is certified by Coeliac UK, so Celiacs should feel safe ordering this pizza.

How Much Does Talia di Napoli Gluten-Free Pizza Cost?

The gluten-free pizza costs $108 for a six-pack or $130 for an eight-pack (including shipping) but Talia di Napoli often seems to be running deals/coupons on their site – I paid $124 for eight pizzas plus a bonus free pizza during one sale that they had.

The pizzas shipped out about a week after I ordered them, and arrived at my door ice-cold thanks to the dry ice that was still frozen solid. I took out two pizzas for my husband and I to try for dinner. The pizzas arrive individually wrapped, and come with a little instruction booklet which tells you how to cook them. However, the instruction booklet didn’t say what temperature to cook the pizzas at, so I flipped over one of the pizzas I had pulled out to check the cooking instructions… which turned out to be very fortunate as it’s how I discovered Talia di Napoli had sent me one regular gluten pizza mixed in with all the gluten-free pizzas! The pizzas look very similar so if I haven’t checked the back, I never would have realized before cooking it, which could have been disastrous. So definitely check every pizza in your order if you get gluten-free pizzas from Talia di Napoli!

Talia di Napoli Gluten-Free Pizza

Side note: If you’re looking for an honest review of the regular Talia di Napoli pizza, my non-Celiac but very picky about pizza husband loved the non-gluten free pizza, saying it was amazing.

How to Cook Talia di Napoli Sleeping Pizza

The cooking of the pizza is really simple. No defrosting is required, just take the pizza out of the packaging and put it directly on your oven rack and cook for approximately 10 minutes.

The first time I made the pizza, I made it in a pizza pan and it came out extremely underdone and almost raw dough-like. The second time, I followed the instructions and cooked it directly on the rack, extending the cooking time to 15 minutes, and it came out much better.

The Talia di Napoli Gluten-Free Pizza Verdict

If you’re looking for a great gluten-free pizza to have at home, Talia di Napoli’s is the best I’ve found! The crust is amazing, and you probably wouldn’t guess it’s gluten-free. It’s a delicious version of the Neapolitan pizza. The cheese and sauce are all good as well, and the pizza is definitely worth the money.

Talia di Napoli’s customer service is great as well – after I let them know about the gluten pizza mix-up, they refunded my money without me even asking.
