Jackson Hole, Wyoming: Gluten Free Travel Guide

Grand Teton, Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole, Wyoming is the gateway to Grand Teton National Park and basecamp for skiers and snowboarders in the winter. This cute mountain town has a ton of gluten-free restaurants, including a 100% dedicated gluten-free restaurant in the most surprising of places.

The Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Cultivate Cafe: This cute little cafe is tucked in next to the town’s theater, and is decorated old western style inside. This is the best gluten-free restaurant in Jackson Hole, because it’s the only 100% dedicated gluten free restaurant in town! Their food is delicious, and they serve an amazing breakfast. (They’re only open for breakfast and lunch and closed on Sundays.) The homemade bread is awesome, so be sure to get a sandwich or toast. I was disappointed with the gluten-free baked goods selection here – they only had a few available when I came, so I’d plan on coming here for a full meal rather than to pick up pastries. Cultivate Cafe has a great outdoor space with lots of tables!

Hand Fire Pizza: This pizza place is located in an old movie theater space, so the vibe is very cute. They have dedicated kitchen space for gluten free, and you can get most of the menu gluten free.

Thai Me Up Restaurant and Brewery: Thai Me Up was the favorite meal of our trip for myself and my (gluten-eating) friends. This place is legit, serving up authentic Thai food that’s flavorful, affordable, and delicious. Most of the menu can be made gluten-free with some modifications. I asked very specific questions to my server (for example checking if the tofu was fried in shared oil) and she was able to suggest changes (do steamed tofu instead) to make the dish safe for me. This is the best gluten-free restaurant in Teton Village!

Jackson Drug: If you’re craving french fries, Jackson Drug has a dedicated fryer. Almost everything here is gluten-free, and they offer gluten-free buns/bread as well.

Healthy Being Cafe & Juicery: Almost everything on the menu here is gluten-free. The acai bowls are amazing, as are the gluten-free flatbreads! This cafe is open until 6pm, so you could even come here for an early dinner.

Spur Restaurant & Bar: Spur was a close contender for my favorite gluten-free meal of the trip. It’s located inside a hotel, and it’s a little pricey, so save Spur for when you want a special gluten-free dinner. Spur has a dedicated fryer (and amazing french fries) and lots of gluten-free options, including an incredibly decadent flourless chocolate cake.

Mangy Moose: The Mangy Moose doesn’t have a ton of gluten-free items, and nothing is marked on the menu, but they do take care with allergies and you can eat safely here. I was able to order the truffle hummus (which was delicious) and the kitchen cut up vegetables for me to eat it with instead of the pita it comes with. I also got a naturally gluten-free salad, which was nothing special, but I didn’t get sick after.

Dornan’s: Located in Moose, Wyoming, I don’t recommend Dornan’s as a good gluten-free restaurant, (at least not the Spur Bar) but I highly recommend stopping here for a sunset drink. It’s located on the drive back into town from Grand Teton National Park, and they have a huge roofdeck with great views of the sun setting over the mountain.

The Worst Gluten-Free Restaurant in Jackson Hole

I don’t recommend the Merry Piglets for gluten-free food. The waiter was nice and very knowledgeable when I asked about gluten-free options (confirming with me that it was Celiac Disease), and informed me that even the rice here is not safe because it’s flash-fried. Very few gluten-free options available here, and didn’t seem safe from cross-contact.

The Best Gluten Free Grocery Stores in Jackson Hole

Whole Foods: There’s a fairly new Whole Foods just outside of Jackson Hole’s downtown that has tons of gluten-free products.

Albertson’s: A little bit closer to town, Albertson’s has a decent selection of gluten-free groceries at cheaper prices compared to Whole Foods.

Pearl Street Market: If you don’t have a car, or need some snacks in a hurry, Pearl Street Market is right in downtown Jackson Hole. They have a good selection of gluten-free snacks (like crackers and cheese) but is very expensive.
